Why can't some users see all databases?
Overview
If your company has multiple databases, there may be users who either do not require access to all databases, or who are not permitted to access all databases. In Accentis, this is managed by database grouping.
What is database grouping?
There are four database groups to which each database can be assigned. You may choose to have a certain database assigned to all four, just a couple, or only one of the groups. These groups then define which users can access which databases.
Why is this necessary?
There are a few situations in which it is useful to hide some databases.
- You may have a regular user of Accentis who only performs certain tasks and does not require the use of multiple databases.
- Your company may have multiple entities which require databases that are not relevant to some users.
- You may have "internal" databases such as trusts or holding companies that you would like to only be accessed by administrators.
How do I define where each database is grouped, and who can access them?
Each database will be grouped in either one or multiple of: 1, 2, 3, or 4.
Each user can log into one of the groups: 1, 2, 3, or 4.
We can set the database grouping and user access for you so that you can ensure only the relevant databases are accessible to your employees.
