Why am I unable to paste documents into Accentis?
Overview
Accentis Enterprise allows you copy documents and attach them to records by pasting them using a right click Paste, or CTRL-V on the document icon on a form.
Sometimes, however, you may find that when you try to paste a document to a record, nothing is being attached. This is due to one of two reasons:
- You don’t have Add permissions for that function’s documents.
- You are accessing through Remote Desktop, and the remote session doesn’t have access to your Clipboard.
Granting Add permissions for the function’s documents
If a user doesn’t have Add permissions for a function’s documents, then they will be unable to attach any documents to any of that function’s records. Here’s how you grant the permissions:
- Navigate to System > Users and select Permissions.
- In the List of users / groups, highlight the relevant user.
- In the List of functions, highlight the relevant function.
- Select Edit and tick the box corresponding to Add data and Documents.
- Select Update to save your changes.
Important to note: When providing Add permissions you are also adding Read permissions. This means that any documents attached to any records for that function will be accessible to the user.
Enabling the clipboard for the remote session
If the remote session doesn’t have access to your Clipboard, then you won’t be able to paste anything that was copied from outside the session. Here’s how you update the connection settings to allow access to your Clipboard:
- Log-off / Sign-out of the Remote Desktop.
- Make sure you are logging off from the Start menu and not just disconnecting.
- Right-click on the Remote Desktop shortcut (.rdp) that you use to access Accentis and select Edit.
- Navigate to the Local Resources tab.
- In the Local devices and resources section, tick the Clipboard box.
- Navigate back to the General tab.
- In the Connection settings section, select Save.
