Every business needs to report its activities to the government as well as its directors or shareholders. Waiting for an entire year to do this reporting and checking is not practical, and therefore running checks and reports regularly will significantly ease the burden. It will also ensure that any mistakes in account allocation, data entry procedures or system configuration will be identified and fixed as soon as possible.

Once mistakes, missing or incorrect transactions have been located, it is much easier to fix them before you have proceeded with other processing and reporting than to have go back and recalculate data.
