How to terminate an employee without paying out their leave (Usually LSL)
Overview
Sometimes when terminating an employee, you don’t want Accentis Enterprise to pay out their leave entitlement.
Do this by either:
- Processing a new pay run for that employee prior to the termination pay run, to adjust or remove their leave balance (see How to adjust leave balances for an employee)
- Adjusting the amount of leave accrued on the termination pay run to be a negative value of their current balance (see below)
Process
- Create a new pay run to terminate the employee
- Right click Terminate
- Go to the Leave Items tab in pay run details (when you double-click on the person)
- Manually accrue a negative or positive value to adjust the final leave balance to 0
- Go back to the Pay items tab and check that no unused leave has been paid out
Whenever you adjust their Pay for the termination, Accentis Enterprise will recalculate the leave accrued, so do this as the very last step. If it creates an issue, then remove leave using a separate pay run and then process the termination pay run.
