Can CSV files be used for account reconciliations?

KB623

Quick Answer

Yes, but they have to converted to a QIF format first using a custom command.

Overview

Bank statement imports for account reconciliations require a QIF file.

Most banks provide statement downloads in QIF format, which can be imported (drag/drop) directly into the Account Reconciliation form.

However if your bank only provides statements in CSV format, Accentis Support can create a custom command to convert the CSV file into a compatible format for importing.

How do I get a CSV converter?

Contact Accentis Support at [email protected] and request that a converter be created.

To create the converter, Accentis Support will need:

  • A sample of the CSV file downloaded from your bank.
  • The name of the bank the file was downloaded from.

Once these have been provided, the team will review the file and provide an estimate. If the estimate is approved, the converter will then be developed and tested for use with your bank's CSV files.

Conversion work is chargeable and typically under 1 hour is required.
