Does Accentis Enterprise automatically work out how much pro-rata Long Service Leave (LSL) is payable on termination?
No. Due to the complexity of how and when the pro-rata calculations for LSL are applied (e.g. EBA’s, individual agreements and other industrial instruments), Accentis Enterprise won’t attempt to apportion a pro-rata amount of LSL on termination. Once an employee has reached the Leave can only be taken after x years limit defined in the leave item, Accentis Enterprise will pay out the entire amount of LSL owing at that time and it is up to the payroll officer to determine how much of that leave is applicable to be paid out based on the circumstances.
For example, broadly speaking, LSL may be paid out on a pro-rata basis between 7 and 10 years depending on the circumstances of the termination. If you have set up your LSL to only allow it to be taken after 10 years, you will have to manually modify the termination pay run accordingly.
