How to fix where you have taxed someone too much

Sometimes employees get taxed too much for a variety of reasons. Below recommends how to make the adjustment to their tax.

Always check with a payroll professional when making manual tax adjustments to ensure you are taxing staff correctly.

Process

  1. Create a new pay run
  2. Date it as the last day of your last pay run
  3. Add the employee
  4. Remove all pay
  5. Add EXTRA TAX
  6. Set the amount to be a negative value. This will give rise to a net payment amount
  7. Add copious notes at the top so that you remember why and how, and so does the employee
  8. Update and apply
  9. Make a payment just like normal
