Why are supplier costs for inventory updated automatically when a supplier invoice is entered?

There is a system setting that controls this function. To turn it off, go to System > Preferences > Inventory > Edit > Untick Automatically update supplier prices on update of Supplier invoice > Update.

This is not a default setting – someone has selected this function to happen and may be relying on it. It would be worth checking that removing this preference won’t have an adverse effect on others.
