STP ERROR: The Tax Treatment code Working Holiday Maker must have a valid Income Stream Type
Overview
Occasionally, STP lodgments that include Working Holiday Maker employees may fail with the below error:
The Tax Treatment code Working Holiday Maker must have a valid Income Stream Type --> [Event code=CMN.ATO.PAYEVNTEMP.000295; Severity=Error]
Meaning
This error is returned from the ATO when an employee who is on a WHM Tax scale is not designated the Working holiday makers (WHM) Income type.
Solution
Navigate to the affected Employees record and set their Income type to Working holiday makers (WHM).
When setting the income type, make sure to also set the employee’s Country code.
Once you change this, the next pay run submission for the employee will succeed.
If you are unsure which country code applies, please see What are the 2-character Country codes available for Working Holiday Makers (WHM), Inbound Assignees to Australia (IAA), and Foreign Employment Income (FEI) income types?
